Abstract:
From the President's Desk:
It’s my favorite time of the year. Thanksgiving—my favorite holiday—is next week and Christmas and New Years are a month later. At ANACS we try to treat everyone—our customers and our workers—as family. It’s our employees—our expert graders, the processors who assemble and seal the coins in their proper holders, our Customer Service staff who field your questions, open your coin orders and enter them into the computer, our shipping department, our IT department, our police officers who work security for us and our administrative staff—that make ANACS the success it has become.
This year, I would like to reward both our customers and our employees for the year we have had. For you, our customer, we are bringing back the extremely popular “Dollars and Cents” special, which we will run throughout the holidays. For our employees, we not only have a fun-filled holiday party for everyone and their guests, but we will also significantly scale back our operations between Christmas and New Years. This way everyone has extra paid time off to rest and hang out with their kids and families. Its one holiday gift no one will be returning.
For me, my son will be flying in from New York City with his girlfriend, my recently married daughter and her husband are flying in from Boston, another daughter is flying in from Vancouver, BC (her husband can’t get away because he’s under the gun installing the various security systems for the Winter Olympics) and our youngest daughter, will all be here too (along with their skis and snowboards). Even my older brother, a retired college professor, will be with us from Seattle. My wife, who is a renowned chef in these parts, is already studying her cookbooks—she has hundreds of ‘em—trying to plan meals for both the carnivores and vegetarians in the family.
What all this means is ANACS grading operations will be limited for the final week of December. We will be back at full operations first thing on Monday morning, January 4, 2010. However, throughout this time, packages will be picked up each day at the Post Office and securely stored in our vault.
Meanwhile, I hope you have a terrific holiday season, and may it be a season without too much stress but, instead, a lot of peace and hope for our country and all its citizens.
